Bogdan Ciocodeică & Diana RoÅŸu two architects based in Bucharest, Romania together with architect Attila KIM created this innovative dining table that can be folded into the wall when not in use. Japanese design studio Nendo created a beautiful collection of tables called Soft for Glas Italia presented at the 2015 edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan.
The design looks simple but it was in fact very difficult to create: “3 types of low tables that are of the shape of a box using 5 sheets of frost glass. For the joint between two sheets of glass, the cross-sections with an angle of 45° were printed with bright colours. These cross-sections were then bonded together. These colours had a gradation effect, such as from purple to red, orange to yellow, and blue to purple. What is more, the reverse side of the frost glass was printed with a pattern to make it look as though the same colours were blurred on the glass surface. With this, we tried to create a natural and soft image, as if the colours on the edges were blurring. By combining the extremely difficult technique of printing gradation colours on the diagonal edges with the printing that expresses a delicate blurriness, an appearance that contradicts the conventional image of glass, which is of a hard and sharp material, was achieved.”

Polish design studio EC-5 Architects just completed the interior design of the new Ibis Styles Hotel located in the city of Lviv in Ukraine. Ibis Styles is a bright, modern and stylish hotel with perfect combination of Ukrainian national touch in small details and functional comfort. “The new ibis Styles hotel presents a fresh approach towards the city, which is commonly associated with monuments and historical buildings.â€
The Cella Bar in portugal created by FCC Arquitectura and interior designer Paulo Lobo is a unique space that mix the old with the new. The designers wanted to mix the contemporary and the old without altering the original structure. The result is a wavy structure that could remind the place where it it located, waves and the natural environnement.

Designer Satoshi Itasaka of Japanese design studio h220430 created this beautiful set of pendant and table chandelier lamps called “The Birth”. The inspiration according to the designer: “Today, the loss of life and humanitarian suffering, such as racism and terrorism, is considerable. Besides, it is now possible to make human beings artificially. Considering those, it seems that the value of ‘life’ is transforming, and therefore, it is time to re-think about the ‘life’. This chandelier is inspired by the weak electrical current occur from an ovum at the very moment of the fertilization.â€

The “Rainbow Chapel†by Coordination Asia, an award winning agency for design and architecture, is located in the be G+ Park in Shanghai and is surrounded by water. The Chapel is part of the Shanghai Glass Museum and is intended as a circular space for weddings. The building’s mosaics are made with glass in 65 different colors that project beautiful light into the space.
